Hi all! New member here.
In 1995 I bought a purple quilt EVH. I shouldn't have since it was $$$ and I was in school. Bills came due and I had to sell. I've missed it for a long time.
I found this Axis in a pawn shop about 4 months ago. Luckily it was kept behind the counter so it stayed in good condition. The shop is on the way home from work and I'd go visit here at least once a week. Finally, today, they accepted my offer of $750.00. It was tagged at $1,000.00.
It checked all the boxes for me. Amber, check. Quilt top, check. Flamed instead of birdseye neck, check. D-tuna, check. I'm not sure if the bridge pickup is original as it had he's screws like a Super Distortion.
It plays and sounds exactly like I remember from 23 years ago.

You got that for $750 and didn't need to use a gun?!?!?!?!

JK, amazing deal on a gorgeous guitar...

Congrats... gorgeous gittar!

exceptional deals like that are very rare, but they do happen.... ;)

I'm still looking for the new bass, or I'm missing something here...??? ;)

Ha! Well...i play bass too, I guess my autocorrect thinks I buy more basses than guitars and switched NGD to NBD.

I shimmed the neck a tiny bit and adjusted the Floyd height. Now it's playing like it should. Nice and fast. I will need to set the intonation as it's off enough to bug me. I recently picked up a Peterson Virtual Strobe so it should dial in nicely.
