New bass day. Classic Stingray 5. Coral red. Tortoise shell pickguard. Birdseye maple fretboard.





The local Guitar Center was clearing this out at $500 off. This is the second EBMM bass I have owned - had a pearl blue Stingray 4 H 3EQ a couple of years ago. This is a much nicer instrument, more fun to play. Love the birdseye maple neck/fretboard and hard finish on the neck - a huge upgrade (to me) over the oil/wax finished plain maple on my previous Stingray.

Birthday was September 2nd, 2010 - I am totally shocked how well it has been taken care of. For it to have been at a Guitar Center for over three years and still be just about mint is unbelievable.

I got a 4string exactly the same bass. But mine has a black pickup cover. I think it looks better with this pickguard. There are the coral red with white pickguard too and then the white cover looks better. But overall nice bass!
 
Beauty! I really like the tort guard on the Coral finish. I might consider a black PU cover, though. That white one really sticks out!
 
The GC also had a version with a white guard which was $50 more, and did not look as good as the tort.

Where can I get a black pickup cover?
 
That's fine. I actually think I like the white. The color balance in the picture seems to make it look a lot more mismatched than it is in person.

I could probably do that! I am going to get some better pictures of the Albert Lee HH I am trying to sell this weekend, so I might as well put the CSR5 in front of the lens as well. These are the GC Platinum stock photos.
 
Nice!! I was actually at that Guitar Center in KC yesterday afternoon and saw (what is now) your new bass. Self restraint was needed since I am patiently waiting for my all rosewood neck Stingray to arrive. Great bass... Enjoy!!

I am definitely a huge fan, although I must admit I never would have ordered it without having seen and played it in person. I was originally looking for mint green or powder blue, but I found this one locally and decided I had to have it.
 
Congrats, ...very nice!

I wonder, ...how would she looks with white shell pick guard? (perfect match with the white pickup cover)
