Finaly it arived at my local dealer and im picking it up tomorow morning! :) allready got a picture of all the neptunes he ordered. They all look so nice! I hope it was worth the wait... i ordered early but aperantly the dealer only put the order in a few weeks later when he got orders from all his customers. Wich is why i had to wait for a long time. so excited to go get it now! Mine is the sr4 HH :)

Hello man,

I picked up my guitar (white pickguard) today!

They look a thousand times better in real life than on the pictures! Trust me!

Have fun!

Beauty!!! How did you do on the weight? As much as I love my all rosewood SLO, I have some regret that I didn't wait for this run. I know it's luck of the draw, but mine is 10.2 lbs. Looks like most from this run are much lighter (maybe due to the hog body).

It feels quite ok for a sr4. I guess its a bit lighter thrn my other ebmms wich are ash. But not alot of difference. And im happy with that. I dont like basses to be too light because then the body and neck are often out of ballance imo.

man, i've played this thing for hours and hours now! it is so great, really incredible! its like 5 basses into 1.
pos.1 gets a great stingray tone, pos.2 is like a nice j-bass sound, pos.3 is super mellow, pos.4 is like a p-bass on steroids and pos.5 is warmer but still sounds pretty stingray like.
even not pluged in this thing sounds like heaven, the hog body really makes a difference. and what a neck, ive always preferred my sterling neck, this slo special is very similar and super fast!
could not be happier, just like with all of my ebmm basses. thanks to everyone at ebmm! great quality as always!

to answer your question more precisely I've weighed all my guitars today, results below:
musicman sterling 4, SUB usa 4, stingray II guitar where all 9.5 lbs
the Neptune sr4 HH was just under that with 9.3 lbs
even lighter is my classic sr4 at 8.8 lbs
and the lightest is a ESP hybrid weighing 7.9 lbs

the classic sr 4 has the ideal bass weight for me... lighter than that is too light IMO. A guitar feels different and is smaller and therefor its ok if they are a bit lighter. they feel more balanced, that's why my stingray II guitar feels super heavy too me, while it is only the same weight as many of my basses, it feels much heavier. my ESP has the perfect weight for guitar imo.

By the way, still super happy about the new bass! although i'm still a huge fan of the punchy sound of my sr4 classic. I guess I will never find a better bass than that one. the Neptune one is super versatile, and has a great tone tough! I think im at a point where all the gear I have left now will never leave me. all keepers.

Awesome! I thought I was the only one that ordered a PDN SLO Special. I still think mine is one of a kind as it's a 4H, Slo Special H, with 2BandEQ.. :) (Still awaiting delivery)

I really dont think slo specials are ordered alot. Most bass player i know and even my dealer had never heard of the option... im guessing mayebe 2 or 3 whould be ordered in this run. I chose the HH for maximum flexibiliy but might be a bit more rare too since i see alot of single H sr4's of this run online..... but whatever. Not planning to sell this soon. Sounds too awesome!
