Neck width on SR4 : is it me or...

Hi folks,

I got my new SR4 on Tuesday, a brand new model. My previous 4-string MM bass was a pre-EB StingRay I had purchased in 1980 then traded in in 1982 for, ahem, something else (stupid mode hidden). And since I've been living in another galaxy for the following 24 years, I never put my hands on any 4-string MM bass until last Tuesday.

Is it me, or somewhere (when ?) in some past, the neck width of the StingRay has been narrowed ? As far as I remember, the neck on my pre-EB SR was wider. At least that's what I seem to remember.

My guess is that it only seems wider, since the pre-EB necks were thinner (but not narrower). They're actually the same width, but the thinner neck makes it feel wider.
