Necks

Hello All
I am new to this site and also to the world of Musicman basses. I have just bought a beautful Stringray WOW.... anyway my question to you experence people.. I have been told there are two finnishes of neck a lackerd on and one that need waxing, I have that one, I am looking for some advise on looking after this type.
