Folks,

I try to stay away from Music stores (I go to MA meetings....), but I recently got sucked in.... played a SR4 SH and decided it is time for a new bass (I currently own a Cutlass and a Sterling - love 'em both).

Since all I can test drive is the SH, I wanted your opinion on the HH. Pros and cons of each? I loved the bass I played, but I am wondering if the HH is really wonderful... Is it more versatile? More full sounding? What is the big difference between the two?

What do you think?

Thanks!
Tony

Tony,

A few forumites have sung the praises of the H/S Sterling in posts here. Even BP said it was his fav of the new 2-pickup offerings.

I've never actually played an HS Music Man (through an amp) before, but I can tell you that the HH has a HUGE bottom end. It's really about what you prefer.

I suppose the only cons of any pickup configuration would be the lack of space for popping on an HH model, but there's still enough for it, just not a ton. Not that I slap that much anyway.

Sorry if this is a dumb question/observation ... I noticed you stated "SH" several times in your post Tony. Do you mean SH - Single Humbucker compared to an HH .... or HS compared to an HH ...
