Well, I ended up getting a 5 string bongo in sapphire black with a moonstone pickguard in the HH configuration. It's a sexy beast! It looks great, sounds great, and FEELS great. The satiny neck is so unbeleivably smooth! Wow, I'm in love.

I'll take some pics as soon as I get a chance. I know, I know. You've seen pics of the sapphire black bongo already. But I wanna take pics of this beauty anyway! lol

The bass was supposed to come on monday, but living in kentucky, things seems to blaze here by UPS.
 
How does yours get closer because of mine?
And yeah, I know this doesn't mean a whole lot without pictures. But like I said, I'm taking some soon.

Since they are done making yours, they are closer to building mine :)

I have a Saph Black on order with a September 2004 delivery date.
 
I did not do a custom order. Sorry. I bought mine off Bass Central with and awesome awesome deal. And it was delivered before it was scheduled to.

Don't worry AntMan, I feel your pain. Only I've actually seen and played a bit on mine to be, so to speak. It will be mine, oh yes, it will be mine.

I have been dealing with a local store here in Ft. Lauderdale, FL called Music Arts Enterprise for a number of years. I feel comfortable with them. Only 10 mins from my place and the bass sales person, is also a bass player. He gives me the straight up info and a smack in the head if I'm gonna do something stupid :)

He gave me a great price on my Sapphire Black 4HH Bongo that is on order. I only had to put down a small deposit. I original saw the Bongo at Guitar Center, but they wanted me to pay for the whole thing up front to order it. So, I went to MAE and they had some Bongos in stock that I tried out and it was $200 bucks less then GC!!! I put down $300 on it and he placed the order. The whole thing after taxes was $1123.

Man I'm feelin the love, and it makes me feel warmer about my Bongo. Also, again Antman, the brotherhood lies in, as I love and trust my music guy and will not settle for anything else.... Although I'm thinkin I may need to look around for some better amps...
