I just bought a new Bongo 4 HH a week ago Saturday and already one of the tuning gears is slipping. I've tried to tighten it but no luck. Luckily (or not so) I bought it at GC, so it looks like this one is going back.

Oh well, I was just getting used to this bass.

May I suggest you contact EB customer service before you bring the bass back to GC?

When you get there ask them to call EB customer service.

I thought about that but this bass is already scheduled to go back sometime this year. When I purchased it, there was damage on the headstock (dings and a big area with the finish scraped off). GC put in an order to replace it but it's not scheduled to be in until the end of Sept 06. There is a 30 day return policy so I'm probably just going to do that. I could go to another GC and see if they have any in stock to just trade but I'll have to think about it.

Perhaps, I can find a decent used one. I do like the Bongo!

Sounds like you will get your issue resolved right nicely. Bongo's do bring lots of fun for sure.

I have a 4HH Bongo to sell if you choose to go that route.

Call me at (866)-823-2255 ext 123; we'll hook you up a with a discounted tuning key. All you need is a phillips head and your bass is fixed.

I would go with this option.

BTW, aren't the guys and gals of EB great. Tell me where else you'd get that kind of service. :D

Ok, called customer service. They're flying someone out immediately to fix it.

Well . . . I guess the part will arrive in a few days and I shouldn't wait for them to show. :D

Thanks, Scott.
