This my 1st time posting in the forum. I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Guillermo Rodriguez. I am a bass player in San Antonio,TX, and I just received my 1st Bongo Bass. It is beautiful 5, HH, pearl blue in color, with the black pearloid pickguard. Let me tell you the pictures do not give these instruments justice. They are amazing. I did not realize that they were 18v. I have not actually plugged it in yet but I am going to put it to use tonight. I have just one question. What type and size of strings do these come with from the factory? I bought mine through Musicians Friend so I am not sure if they change the strings. Anyone with any info please respond.
Thanks

Hi gualro,

Congrats on your new Bongo. :) I hope you have tons of fun jams with it.

Anyway, I would imagine the Bongo would come with a standard 5 string set if EB Slinkies (http://www.ernieball.com/products_strings_bassround.php), product ID 2836. That's my guess. I'm sure the tons of other members on their board who actually have Bongos can tell you whether or not I'm right. :)

!oye ese guillermo!

At last, I am not the only person with a Bongo in San Antonio! Welcome to the forum, amigo. Where are you playing tonight? There are a couple of jams I go to and frequently shock them with my Bongo(s).

My name's Jack, my website is www.bovinehost.com and we should get together one of these days.

What kind of music do you play?

Thanks for the info and welcome.
Bovine I did not know that you were here in SA, for some reason I thought you were up in North Texas around Dallas. I like to play all types of music from Big Band to Latin. My main gig is Tejano. I am playing at Grahams Central Station tonight starting at 9:30pm and I will be using my brand new Bongo. We will definitely get together.
