New metal song with my Polar Noir Majesty 7!

Hello. I like the guitar playing and band mix. Real nice and interesting melodies. Like some of your other music, I just don't get into the "death metal" type singing but thoroughly enjoyed your guitar licks! Are you playing the Al PDN much with all these nice new toys you have recently acquired?

Thank you for the kind words! I too would prefer if I could sing on these but alas that is a gift I do not have. As for the PDN Al, my Dad was so blown away with it that I let him have it! I occasionally play it when I visit him because it is a sweet axe!

What a great son and a cool Dad! One idea as singing is not my strong point either, is to let your guitar sing the lyrics for you! I recently took some online lessons with Paul Gilbert and this is something that he suggests. The songs I have heard from you so far, seem to be more of an instrumental nature and this might be one option. Either way, thanks for sharing your music as it takes a real man to do so especially on forums like this where everyone has an opinion.
 
I gave it a listen. Nice work! My main criticism would be that the vocals don't sit well in the mix. They're too far 'in front' of the rest of the mix. I'd try throwing some reverb on the vocals, not enough to sound like you're in a tin can, but just dial in enough to make the vocals sit back with the other instruments a bit more. Done properly, you won't even hear the reverb, you'll just notice that the vocals blend better. Try various types of reverb, perhaps plate kinds, until you find one that works well. Just my two cents. Rock on!
 
Thanks, man! I usually do put some reverb on my vocals but I didn't on this track (it is a very good suggestion). I find that when I play it through my computer speakers or my PA it sounds great, but through my car stereo it doesn't sound the same. I guess that is the challenge of getting a good mix!
 
No problem. When I'm doing a serious mix, I like to play it through whatever I have around (car, stereo, computer, etc.) and try to tweak it to where it sounds decent on all of them. It's a bit of a pain because of the time involved, but after a while you get a sense of where your mixes need to be (using your own setup) and you'll create more well-rounded mixes instinctively.
 
I dig it but I'd like to hear more of your growling range. And the solo although it fits, sounded a bit uninspiring to me, especially during the second part. I like the main groovy riff, got my head banging right away. All in all its a good song and good tone on the guitar. Just some mixing tweaks here and there and maybe a bit more work on that solo, but that's just my opinion.
