It seems like there were a bunch of threads that were talking about the new models here and there. I was getting confused and thought maybe we could have one spot to talk about, theorize etc. I am editing this first post to add things and correct them when we find out information about them.

What we know >>

BP told us there were 3 new models coming this year and one in Jan.

http://forums.ernieball.com/music-m...er-just-new-label-new-model-3.html#post977283

That was confirmed as 4 new models here and further clarified that 2 would be signatures. He also said one would be alt and one would be country.

http://forums.ernieball.com/music-m...er-just-new-label-new-model-9.html#post978542

We now know that the signature models are for St. Vincent (already out for preorder) and the other is Hunter Hayes. The Hunter Hayes is confirmed to be based on the Cutlass model as seen in photos of him playing it. It appears to have a bridge humbucker, a vintage them bridge and a maple fretboard.

The other guitar that was revealed was the Cutlass. It appears to (in body shape) be potentially based on the Sabre model guitar.

There was also a hint photo of another new model that seems to be based on the old Stingray guitar. Since the Cutlass is not named after the Sabre it's not likely this will be called the Stingray. Especially with a bass with that name.

What we don't know >>

Obviously we don't have details on the Cutlass and the offset guitar with the exception that the Cutlass has an alder body and longer headstock. It was hinted that two of the models are going to be "traditional" and then 2 would be signatures. Also on Facebook it was said that two of the new guitars will have the larger headstock. I suppose that maybe the HH is the other model with the larger headstock since it is based on the Cutlass and the photos of the guitar he is playing has it.

Lastly my guess is that the HH signature will be the one coming out in Jan of next year.

The St. Vincent is a bold move.
When I first saw it, I thought it was like an ugly Armada.
But it's definitely grown on me.
The body seems unnecessarily long, to me.

That white HH looks like a dwarf strat, to me. I don't like it.
The 2 classic models could be very cool, especially if a vinatge tremolo came as an option.

I'm still disappointed that all MM90 models are going.

I believe the white Cutlass is actually one of the 2 classic models with the other one being the Stingray styled offset. I am assuming that is why it has the classic logo and longer headstock. Again...speculation until announced and confirmed although we do know it's not one of the 2 signature models so I think that de facto makes it one of the 2 classic models.

I agree! I was hoping that one of the new models offered MM90's and that is why they left the older models. (Much like the SSS Silhouette Special went away and now there is a SSS Cutlass available). My guess is that's not the case and it was eliminated due to being a poor seller. I love those pickups.

One thing i love about EBMM is they are not afraid to take risks... a few notable mentions
early on... the Albert Lee... totally unique and it's a classic (in my mind)
then you get into the likes of the JP models and the progression into the Majesty... i remember FLAMING reviews before it even hit the shelves and from what has been proved it's the best selling guitar of MM History (BP correct me if i'm wrong)
Then the Armada.... totally different and i personally didn't like it visually - then i kept looking at it and fell in love with what it did for the company... introduced an incredible guitar... i played it at NAMM and have been monsoon for one ever since...

Now were faced with the St. Vincent guitar that was brought to the company with a fresh set of eyes and design philosophy - because it was a new designer. It's BOLD, it's SLEEK, it's in some regards a very SEXY guitar... and i can't wait to play one.

As for the Strat - i don't see EBMM trying to take on STRATS... i see them taking a concept and killing it like the have done time and time again. The lines in my eyes look though similar very different and done with EBMM Style that is unsurpassed...

I"M really excited to see what EBMM is going to release... that offset guitar... YEAH Im saving up now... WOWZERS!!!

Not that the Cutlass or anything is a strat style, but with all the boutique builders just building versions of strats, don't you guys think MM has the right to bulid a double cut strat style more that any other company given its lineage?? also the HH and the Cutlass look sooo much cooler to me than a typical strat or a strat stlye....just my 2c...

I am not convinced the guitar that HH is photographed with is his signature model. It might be but I am leaning toward him playing variations of the new Cutlass and that his signature model will look different.

Nice! Thanks for the info. So on Facebook it was mentioned that 2 of the new models has the larger headstock. Would it be reasonable to assume that it's the Cutlass and the HH signature then? Since his signature is based on the same model.

I am absolutely LOVING that long headstock.

The short headstock is unbelievably classy and practical.
The long headstock screams 'classic', but still MusicMan. Feels it has always been there somehow, it just makes sense.
