A few years back I had to let my two St Vincents go due to unfortunate circumstances (I was able to hang on to my ALHH, at least). My wife and I were in Copenhagen to see Radiohead last week (they didn't cancel the one we went to!) and I popped by Woodstock Guitars because they had an Orange Thunderverb 200 that I'd always wanted to play through and could never find anywhere where I could before. Incredible amp. Anyway, they had a Stingray (used) so I figured I'd try it and in instantly felt like home. I've long been an offset guy but I didn't really consider them before because I thought the neck pickup was a bit too far from the neck ( I hate 24 fret guitars because I hate the tone of the neck pickup being that close to the bridge). Turns out it's not, and I knew I had to figure out how to get one. Got back to Seattle, and someone happened to be selling this one in a neighboring town for a good price, and I'd acquired enough gear over the past few years for particular projects that have since passed and thus could sell some things to pay for it. Love this thing, happy to finally have another Ball in the collection.
