Look at post #200, posted by Tim O' Sullivan. He has a hardtail EVH, and if you keep going through the pic thread, you'll see a pacific blueburst Axis that has a MM tremelo (but could be /classified/used as hardtail, if you pull the bar out, etc.) and then pics of an EVH (and Wolfgang) with a Floyd Rose tremelo, etc.
Hope that helps to put things into (extra) better perspective.
