Just wanted to say hi to everyone here. I've been lurking for a few months and finally decided to register today.
A little about myself. I'm a 36 yr. old golf professional in northern Indiana. During the summer months I work a lot, but this time of year I get to play a lot of guitar. I was an Ibanez junkie for many years (I play instrumental rock). Having been a John petrucci fan for many years when he made the leap to Ernie Ball so did I. I'm down to just 3 Ibanez (from 5), I'm selling them off slowly but surely, I have a Brian Moore i8 with Dimarzio pu's, a Fender Strat and my EBJPMM. My next purchase will probably be a silo or the JP 7.

I am blown away with the quality of the instruments that EB produces and the care and concern they have for the customers who support them. This looks like a great forum and I look forward to interacting with you all.

Brad, welcome man isn't the JP just an awesome instrument!!!

Hey, you gotta post pictures of your JP to the Picture Post sticky thread, it's like part of the initiation package.

Hey Big Poppa,

Yeah I've seen your commercial! In fact, I like to sit on the couch and jam while watching the 8 billion infommercials on the Golf Channel. I'm the head Golf Pro at Sims Oak Hills Golf Course near Elkhart Indiana. I love my Petrucci! It's a stripped model. I may sound nuts, but I prefer the natural headstock, so I have just a base model. I'll post some pics when I get home. I'm at the pro shop right now watching the snow and answering the phone.

Golf Pro?

What a coincidence. At the EB Open House we gave Big Poppa (son of ernie...allegedly) a book on all the great public golf courses in the US (a $35 value). And a bunch of us even signed it.

Welcome.

Welcome

Some famous guitar players are also golfers ... Dave Murray (Iron Maiden) for instance.
Perhaps, Ernie Ball should produce golf clubs also :D :D :D

Argh, no! Don't give BP any ideas! Please let them stick to guitars (and basses, strings, etc.) :D

Sign me up for a set of EBMM clubs. I'd buy 'em. (Next CLB auction, anyone?)

Oh, yeah, and welcome Brad!

Brad,

Welcome to the best forum on the www

As you probably have already seen through your lurking endeavours, everyone here is great and very knowledgeable.

On a side note Shawn Kemp, who was my favorite NBA Player when he played, hails from Elkhardt Indiana.

Doesn't look forward a whole lot to Father's Day from what I remember.

Yeah, Kemp was on a legendary US Impregnation Tour during his heyday. Some pro athlete has his record beat though, and I think that old Sports Illustrated article featured Evander "Real Deal" Holyfield too

Yes he does. I actually work for the city of Elkhart managing their golf course. Rumor has it Kemp stiffed the parks department for about 50k on an innercity youth basketball center. He must have had child support to pay!
