NGD 3/10 Crystal Amethyst Majesty 8

I’m super excited for this, my 2nd ebmm instrument after my enchanted forest majesty 7, the bookmatch is very nice, this is also my first high quality finish maple flame top instrument. NGL I bought this in no small part because my 13 year old daughter came to me and asked me to teach her a song on guitar after a decade of me gently prodding her to learn, that song is “The Only Thing They Fear is You” from the Doom OST by Mick Gordon, which I quickly found out is in double drop D on 8 string. I showed her the regular drop D version on 6 string but she’s going to be over the moon to learn it properly on this thing! Also I had semi regret not getting the tiger eye 7 so this scratches that itch for me.

Great job passing on the gift of music to your daughter. She’s at the perfect age. My son started at age 13 and he is 26 now. The guitar is a huge part of his life and has brought him much happiness. He’s so humble about it. I told him that he is a better player than me and he replied that we just play different styles of music. I corrected him by saying that he plays his style better than I play my style.

Oh 3/10 means that in the certificate of authenticity that came in the case this guitar is marked 3/10 meaning that they will only make 10 and this was the 3rd. I have seen 1/10 and 8/10 on YouTube, not sure where the rest went. But this was built and certified back in July of 2022 so it sat in the vault for a while before they decided to list it on the vault store last Tuesday.

The first thing I did after getting strap locks installed was to try just playing it as if it were a 6 string. I played some tunes with cowboy chords and sang and it was no problem. It does need some intonation work however.
