I fell for this guitar the moment I saw it, and then after putting my hands on it allowing it's tone to reach my ears, I had to own it! And so it's done. I am happy to say that I am the proud owner of a Albert Lee MM90 in Trans Blue, hence my moniker here and my avatar. And I don't think I'm done. There's the HH and S/S/S that are both beckoning!

Pics of my new MM90:

Congrats very nice, AL MM90's hardtail, I've got one of those in a very different color, but I love mine. Love the pup sound soo much.

Trans Blue AL……………hmmmmm
I, like Glenn, am more of a solid color kinda guy, but DAMN that is a striking guitar. Holy cow does that finish look amazing. MM90's, perfect. Hard tail, perfect. I could see a pearloid pickguard on that beauty but stunning nonetheless.
Really nice score on that one.

Nice one!! Welcome to the ALOC.
The ALOC secret handshake instructions and decoder ring will follow.

If I were you (thinking of getting more AL's) I would say go for the HH and then the SSS.

The HH will be a different guitar to your MM90, whereas the SSS will be more similiar.

The ALOC is proud of you :-)

Kev, nice to see you still carrying on the tradition, Michael would be proud. :)

Cheers Glen.

Many years ago, I "photoshpped" an ALOC decoder ring and used it for some time before changing to the avatar I have now.
Mike then carried on using it.
I think I'll "dig it out", and change back to it. :)

I remember that ring, Michael, used it as his avatar. :(

Thanx man yours is too. I'm more of a paint guy personally. :)

I like both solid and see-thru finishes. Historically speaking IIRC, trans colors were applied to many of the '84 and on MM's guitars. So I sort of like the historical aspect too, not to mention Blue guitars get me every time. As for solid finish guitars, I like them with either unique finishes or with a nice burst in any color. I recently added a new '13 American Standard Strat in their new Mystic Blue finish w/ Rosewood board which has very cool look. Coupled by the fact I liked the new Fat 50's single coils tone, I took th plunge on it. Since I have some more space in my music room after parting with a handful of guitars I no longer had the desire for, I am still looking to add a few more and the Music Man models I have both tried recently as well as models I've longed for over a period of the last 7 or 8 years, I figured the time is to add now while I can. The MM90 which wasn't on my radar was a nice surprise!

The Trans colors will grow on you for certain... I think they are far nicer than solid colors. I like to see some grain, but there's room for these different sort of finishes in any collection. To wit: My Mystic Blue Strat I just posted a pic of.
