NGD Axis Super Sport

For the first time ever UPS got something here a day early! I'd been on the lookout for an ASS, hehe, for a while now and couldn't pass this one up. I had been eyeing almost the same thing but this is a 2016 with the matching headstock and it was marked down as a display model.

I was originally thinking my Valentine sig might be going on the block when this showed up but they all have their own unique thing going on. Let the honeymoon begin!

Nice. Hard to beat an Axis. (And blue is the best tone color. )

So first impressions are in. Of course the neck is amazing, no question about it. Pickups are doing what they need to with a nice contrast to the rest of the stable. It's balanced well and weighs in at just about 7.5lbs.

Then there's the tuners I used to like Schallers but I haven't used a single set in the last 7 years that didn't have some kind of issue. It's the same thing on my Valentine and Cutlass. Not smooth at all and feel like they don't quite catch sometimes. I'm pretty close to looking up the specs to see if a set of Gotoh 510's will fit. So far I've tried:

1. Fresh strings
2. Less than a single wrap on the posts
3. Lubed the nut, saddles, and pivot points
4. Tremolo is not floating, flush with the body and not being used
