Hey guys!

I have a Cutlass in Bull Head blue sparkle and I absolutely love it. It is so comfortable to play. I love the neck. It feels like a Luke V but with a little more meat in the shoulders.

My first exposure to the Cutlass was when my son Eric graduated from college in 2020. My wife and I bought him a Cutlass RS for a graduation present. He had been playing a BFR Axis hardtail with a redwood top since he was 13 and the Cutlass immediately became his favorite guitar.

I have always been a huge fan of Music Man sparkle paint jobs, and the eclipse sparkle does not disappoint. However, the blue sparkle has an Axis pickup and the eclipse sparkle does not. I only play 80s hair band cover songs so I ordered a DiMarzio Andy Timmons pickup for the eclipse. I believe it was either DrKev or Beej who recently said that the AT-1 is very close to the Axis pickup?

Thank you everyone.

I’m dying to get back on stage Glenn but we are having trouble finding a new singer. We only play 80s hair band songs.

Yes Keith, Eric still has the redwood Axis and I expect him to keep it forever since it was a Christmas gift from me. Same thing for his younger brother’s Dargie Delight Big Al, also a gift that same Christmas.

Thanks guys!

The color looks different in varied lighting. It looks charcoal grey in the shade, purple sparkle in ambient light, and silver, blue and purple sparkle with direct light on it.

So awesome that your family all plays MMs!
It is really awesome. It was easy to accomplish since I was the buyer. hahaha. They were 13 and 10 years old. I wanted them to learn how to play on a nice instrument that makes playing effortless. I also taught them how to drive stick shift on a 450 horsepower Camaro SS. Everything to the extreme!
