Pictures will be posted this evening but had to share...

As some of you had seen I had a one off tele stolen from a friends car a few weeks ago and i was just devastated. Though I struggled with the guitar it was a struggle of appreciation (wouldn't call it love) needless to say, we spoke and came up with a replacement option. I decided to go with the LK100D (in Luke blue) and i've got to say i'm impressed.

The build quality is impeccable for the price point (and any price point for that matter) and i couldn't be anymore pleased with the purchase. It was purchased as a store return so it's missing the gigbag and i'll be on the lookout for a case but this thing smokes.

The clarity and tonal range of the pickups really surprised me, the 15db boost is great... wasn't sure how if i'd use it. I'll be using it as a pre drive to my drive to give it a kick it the butt and it sounds killer. Very pleased.

I'll be posting pics later as mentioned but had to share... it makes the pain of the guitar being stolen more bearable

I have NO issues with Sterling guitars.

In fact I was going to buy the same guitar. But my LMS was pushing the EBMM LIII and I gave in.

But in the past I've played both side by side. There is a difference, but it's not that drastic.

She's a killer guitar...

very slight differences between the EBMM and SBMM... but one heck of a guitar for the money.

and the gravity feature in my house on this particular wall is schweet!

Peter, congrats on the Luke! I was bummed for you when I heard about your tele, but it looks like you found a more than suitable replacement...

Love the way you match straps with guitars!

ha... yeah wasn't really planning on it but it's turned into quite the humorous conversation lately...

My Silo Special is my dream guitar and before i got it i had (and have) a dr z maz junior with a mint green baffle...
so i made my pedalboard the same mint green
then got the silo special
my wife then found a dr z extension cab at my local GC in well... mint green and she bought it for me
I had a custom amp head built for me and the guy saw my dr z and made it in mint green with a black racing stripe

and this christmas my wife found the strap and thought it would be hilarious to go that route...

i get a kick out of it... and i'm shockingly not as OCD about it as one would think LOL

Thanks Fred-

yeah it was and still is a stinger... I used that guitar to demo at NAMM in '11 and when BP found out i wasn't using an EBMM he gave me a 25th from the booth for the rest of the weekend (hardest guitar to give back).
A buddy of mine borrowed it and it was stolen the next day... he's a young guy on a budget and certainly couldn't afford the 1500 it cost to rebuild it. He insisted on getting me the money one way or another when I found this one used at GC for $600. I called him up and said if you're really wanting to "make good" buy this guitar at $600 and were all square... no cash on top, no hard feelings were even. He was floored with the "deal"...
i can't say enough about this guitar it gets a bit teleish and gets a bit les paulish... and 100% Lukish and feels like an EBMM to me and sounds killer...

Peter,

I have no idea of your financial situation - but classy of the other guy to insist on replacing the stolen guitar - and VERY classy of you to cut the poor kid some slack. :)

Thanks Kevin-
My wife and I spoke at length and he was willing to max out a GC credit card and try and get another to get enough money to get the $1500 and there was no way i could or would allow him to get that deep. I'm not swimming in cash either but know how difficult it can be to get out from a credit debt and didn't want him to be in that situation. The situation as a whole sucked for everyone and he was insistent on replacing the guitar and this worked for me and he got a "deal" and i got a killer guitar. Good thing is it didn't ruin our friendship which was more important than a guitar...

Major Props to Pete at Dubaldo Music... what a great guy. He ended up having an extra BFR case laying around and we struck a deal and it's on it's way... so very lucky.

and i suppose the Karma train continued as well... i got a call from a very close friend today who build all my amps and we had been talking about a particular design for almost a year now... he wanted to build me the amp as a gift. NO COST... i'm floored

Was thinking the same thought Kev.
The generosity and forgiveness i see from not only musicians but specifically members of this board is why i admire so many and consider some lifelong friends.
Congrats on the guitar Peter. (and maybe 1 more to fall under "collection"?, seems more a "gathering" w 3)

I had the one more a while ago... But I agree one more to make a collection.

I love this group, and really feel as though we're a giant family. I always enjoy sharing major life events with the group.
