This one just surprised me a little. I never knew of an Axis with SSS config.
I also very much like the look of an Axis with pickguard. Found it on Gbase, lot of cool guitars there. Some Axis' in blue dawn as well i think.

Art027, yah Gbase has a bunch of the SSS configuration Axis models. JimiD and at least 1 or 2 other (that I know of on this forum) have a model like this.

I recommend you check out JimiD's web site and see what he has to say about this type of axis, he's very knowledgible.

P.S. I think Royal Music on Gbase has what they are calling a Purple fade Axis SSS, it faded because, from what OrangeChannel (who lives near the store) has pointed out it was in the store window for quite a while.

Here's the thread: http://www.ernieball.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=2655

I have an SSH Axis Sport in trans green that I really like - I missed picking up a white SSS Sport on ebay about three months ago and I've been waiting for another to show up ever since... Royal does have a few nice ones, but their prices are a little high for me... I keep thinking maybe I'll wind down there and make some offers in person one day ;)

Thanks GW,
This is the first time i actually saw an Axis sss. If i had some spare money (which unfortunately i don't) i would have a hard time choosing between an Axis like this and one with MM90's.

Hey Jimi D, an Axis sport sss would surely make a nice addition to your axes. I wonder how is sounds compared to an Albert Lee.

Great webside btw, i just finished looking at your (previous)guitars. Especially the '52 reissue tele got my attention, cool.
recently i got me a JV series '52 reissue from '83, which is a great guitar.

Art027, well I have an Axis Sport with the HH standard humbuckers and I love it.

But, whatever floats your boat. Remember your the one that's going to play it, so you need to make the final decision.

Best of luck.

P.S. $$ is short for just about everyone these days.
