Well....first, teal is not a 'rare' color and second, that thing has to have been refinished. I can see the body joints VERY clearly, which is definitely not the norm on EB basses.

I say it was an opaque finish and someone spray painted it.

Anyone else have ideas about what happened to that poor thing?

I can't check because I'm not at work, but I agree with Jack. With the mineral stains in the wood etc, that would have been opaque.

You could add a known fraudulent serial page. Talk about complete that would just about do it for the MM website of the best. Excuse me I mean a better best site.

You guys really think it's fake? To me it's just an abused but genuine SR. Anyway, I'm not too bothered by the looks of it and it would be a great value, as it's still a SR (at least, I think so). About one day to go and it's been stuck at around $350 for a while now. Someone who ain't too concerned about the looks but after the quality could get a real bargin on this one.

I honestly prefer the newer EBs w/ the plastic battery holder & wheel truss rod adjuster. I really hated adjusting the truss rods on my old Fenders......esp the Geddy.....had to take the neck part way off to adjust.
