Nooo!!! I cut my hand at work today... Pretty serious... Had to go to the doctor, and now I won't be able to play guitar for ten days... What to do!? :(

I would just focus your attentions elswhere. I hardly played guitar at all over Christmas and the New Year (being in the arms of a beautiful woman ;) ) and I did not miss it.

Maybe listen to some cool new music and you will be fired up when your hand is better.

A break from guitar playing is good somtimes. Gives you extra passion when you resume playing.

I agree, breaks are good. I usually make really good progress after a break.

Thanks guys!

I'll do just that, take a guitar-break... I bought a lot of new CD's the past weeks and I really need to go through them. Maybe I can browse the internet a bit, in search of my next EBMM guitar...

Sorry to hear that you're hurt TwAn. You could brush up on your theory, get yourself a good book on Jazz and read.

i know how that stuff can happen....i work in construction and i have cut myself a few times...i hope you are ok!:)

About ten years ago I sliced the whole side of my middle finger on my fretting hand. They stitched it back on but to this day I have no feeling in it whatsoever. To make it worse this was when I was playing full time with no other job (I was helping a mate and he dropped a sheet of stainless). I had that night off and went back to work the very next night with it all bandaged up. I had to adjust my playing style and compensate for what I could not play. Now I have full use of my finger but my playing style is completely changed, I listen to my old desk tapes and it sounds like someone else playing. Look what a hand injury did for Tony Iommi?

Get well soon. It's hard when you are hurt looking at the guitar wishing you could play. Hope you heal up soon and get back to jammin'!

Sorry to hear about that. You could be one of the first FOOT guitarists. May take a bit of yoga to get into the correct position!!!! :)

All the best,

Jonny
