No pickguard Bongo !!!

I always have liked the look of EB MM basses without their PG (Shoot me )
Becouse they look so weird without it and the Pickguard is SO EB MM...
So here goes... All you Bongo owners (or at least one of you plz )
Can you post a pick of your Bongo without the PG ?? I'm curious how it would look like
I'm not that a Bongo lover in the first place (the looks of the Bongo that is)
But maybe I will fall in love with a PG-less Bongo who knows ?!
So... now we play the waiting game ....

You can't leave the screws out without filling up the holes professionally. Otherwise moisture will get inside and the wood/finish can crack or split...

Yes. But if you fill in the holes it'll be a pain in the a$$ to put it back on.

The chick on the front row 30 feet away can't tell if you're missing a screw or not

I really don't think you have to worry about the wood spliting, or cracking. After all, look at all of the Fenders out there with screw holes from removed bridge and pickup covers.

Other than aesthetics, you don't really have to worry about it.

I had the pickguard off of my white Bongo a couple of days ago, but didn't get a chance to take a picture. I have a new pickguard on the way, so I'll snap some pics when it shows up.

I for one like the pickgaurds. I played a ken smith for a couple of years -- without a pickguard of course -- and wore a trench in the body from thumping. the pickguard protects the instrument, and gives a nice smooth surface to play off of.

I used to play an old Pbass.My right thumb wore a groove in the wood along the E string just in front of the bridge..It's deep.I like it.

I like the look of the Bongo without the pickguard as well. I'd say get the clear PG, that would look great.
