You aren't missing too much. Had a 4001 for a while... thin neck 1 sound. They are nice at what they do, but very 1 dimentional. I have a few "other" brands lurking around and that's cool - I understand what it is to be a bass whore - but giving up a Ray (with a piezo) for this??? Not good.

Hey... I'm starting a 12 step program for bass whores.
Step 1: admit the problem - Hi, I'm Ritch and I'm a bass whore (and d@mn proud of it)
Step 2: Buy a Bongo
Step 3: Put the other bases in the closet - only to see the light of day every so often
Step 4: Buy more Bongos
Step 5: Realize there is no cure and the whole 12 step program is a sham and buy even more Bongos!

I've got a RR too (HH)... sad part about it is that pictures do not do it justice... the red is awesome and photos just make it look flat.
