If on volume you would (presumably, and just my opinion) have a greater probability of bumping it when playing ... in my case I also tweak the volume with my pinky and if it were sticking up, that would not work. My 2 cents.

Multiple Fenders have been in the closet for a looooong time. My 4 ALs are hanging on the wall with 2 Rickenbackers, an acoustic and one home made FrankenStrat. ;-)
