Nut width...

Anyway with other threads about neck profiles/thickness I thought I'd look at the MM site for comparisons as to nut width.

Amazingly (to me anyway) apart from the Petrucci, they are all quoted as having a width of 1 5/8 inch at the nut, however I would have sworn that my Luke was narrower than any of the Axis/ASS/AL/Silo's that I play. Maybe the factor that affects our perception of a neck more is the thickness.

I just know that my Axis "feels" much more comfortable than my Luke.

What do others think?

The above word was asterisked by the forum software when I first posted - I guess because of racial connotations - shouldnt it look at the whole word not just combinations of letters within it?

Maybe we should start a thread of inoffensive words that cause the forum software offence

Anyway, the Luke's hard V shaped profile does make it feel smaller than the Axis, for sure... I've heard that some of the newer Lukes have a softer back profile, though...
