Welcome to Day 9 of my annual New Year's New Guitar Days (NYNGD)!
Thanks for the kind words and comments on NYNGD #2022-8!
And thanks for the kind words about my medical stuff. Getting old sucks (although I am not even 50 yet so WTF?) Anyway, another recuperation day, another NYNGD!
Well, this is number 9... just about halfway through my 2022 haul... Let's do a classic, shall we?
Today's guitar is a 2007 Silhouette Dargie Delight in Martini Olive Green! LOOK AT THIS THING. This is what makes me love EBMM. Back in mid-2006 Scotty Ball (Dargie) posted a photo of a green bass, and it started a big thread and Big Poppa said, "Nobody buys green basses, green basses don't sell." And there was a big todo on the forums, so Sterling says, "Fine, we'll do a limited run just for you guys. Put your money where your mouth is." It started as just a bass thing, but then expanded to almost all EBMM models.
So... Martini Olive Green? - CHECK.
Martini Glass inlays, complete with an olive on the first fret? CHECK.
Dargie Delight Limited Edition logo on the back? CHECK.
This thing is awesome and a tribute to all green guitars.
Plays and sounds great just like a Silo should. I only wish they made these with a floating Floyd, but by 2006 those were history. And they also didn't offer the Dargie Delight package on the Axis, which is a bummer (and something I don't understand).
But this one was a good find!
I'll be back soon with another NYNGD: New Year's New Guitar Day! Thanks for looking everyone, and thanks for being patient!
Past Days:
The new EBMM message board limits the number of characters in a post so I can't put a list of direct links in the post. Click here for an index.
(The back story in case you're new to my NYNGD: For the past couple of years I've done a fun thing that most of you I think enjoyed, and I thought I would do it again this year. Every year, I am a slacker about keeping my Guitar Gallery up to date... So, as a fun holiday thing, let's launch a guitar in the Guitar Gallery each day leading up to New Years Eve! In the past I've received PM's about my collection and whether I play all of these guitars. The same question came up during my NYNGD posts a few years ago and my answer was pretty detailed and well thought-out, so please check it out here!)
(Also, in case anybody gets any funny ideas -- these guitars are not at my house. They are all in my very secure and alarmed studio facility. I usually only have two guitars floating around the house...)
