Here are a few shots I took, just a few of them 'cause I took almost a 1000!

This is Waikiki Beach; Beth took this one from the restaurant.

This is in a submarine off the coast of Kaua’i…

We went down to 160 feet, here are some fish that live there.

This is the view from a café on the back of the boat; we were coming in to Maui.

This Beth and I at sunset on a smaller boat on a dinner cruise.

We had a really nice room with a large private balcony; Beth took this one morning on the way in to Hilo.

Here is a short video from the helicopter trip; this is a little lava, not very active right now.


And this video is in a valley, the chopper had cameras and did a way better video, this just from my camera in movie mode.


We had a BLAST!

I have done the chopper trip twice Once it was a blast and the second time the big volcanos on the big island were active and this guy wanted to relive combat and scared me to death and Im a good flyer...never again

The chopper ride looks like fun!

Those things have never been good for me. Either I was running away from things going to sh!t or running towards things going to sh!t.

And once I was in a crash, too, although they called it a C-FIT, which is pronounced SEE-FIT, crazy military.

Anyway, it stands for Controlled Flight Into Terrain and I don't recommend it.

My experience is probably not universal, I realize that.

We had a great pilot, very smooth and professional. A retired Army pilot and had been doing tours for about 20 years. We were in a new chopper, low hours (I checked) and the company had the best safety record on the island (I checked that too, I'm a big chicken!)

But I did get a little scared climbing over the mountain coming out of the most beautiful valley I've ever seen. But I figured if we crashed at least the last thing I saw was beautiful.

I've always wanted to do a chopper tour - Manhattan, Hawaii, wherever. My wife is insanely frightened.

Here is a shot of one cool creature, the endangered Hawaiian Monk seal. He just decided to lie in the sun for a while. Poi Po beach is a pretty good place to for such an activity.
