With all the working out he's done over the years, he's finally ready to go up to acoustic guitar string gauges and tune up to F#.

But also, there are other reasons to use a scarf joint, like less wood waste.

i think all majesty's have a scarf joint. you just don't see it once they get painted

I think that the Armada guitars had scarf joints as well. If you want the neck angle, it definitely wastes less wood, depending on how the original blanks are cut.

Correct on both! The very first Armadas had a different looking joint for the headstock that was eventually changed to the style shown in the above photo.
