my petrucci..so, I farted around with the saddle height today..didn't touch the pup or anything..got it as low as it could go without any discernable buzz anywhere...so it's got action like my ESP..only it's a little easier to play cause the neck's a little more forgiving...girth wise =D

so, anyway..it's a good thing I ordered that Steve's Speciall...cause now I don't knwo if I wanna put the damn thing in!! lol

I don't know if it's cause the strings are a little closer to the pole peices or if it's the way the closer proximity to the neck affects to tone..but ceeerrrrraappp!!! thing sounds like a friggin' beast now..

Like I said in one of the other threads, I really like the stock pickups in the Pet. If you like the stock pickups, and feel that you can live with the tone, then I would definately save yourself the scratch and send the SS back.
 
I do beleive that's what I'm going to do...BUT I'm gonna give it a day or two first..

I think MF has a thirty day return policy? or is it two weeks?
 
MF is either has a 30 or 45 day return policy. I'm not exactly sure. I know it is at least 30.

yeah, I looked on the site and it's 45 days from teh time it's shipped...not a problem...return lable and everything's right in the box...which I didn't even open! hahah

I'll give it a couple days to make SURE that it wasn't some type of fluke.. you know..some weird meteorological event or some type of odd storm system that was affecting the dynamics of my amp or something ;)

but so far, the SS is goin' back...
