Hey guys. I've kind of decided to hang onto my AL but still need something with more guts in the bridge. I was thinking of replacing the bridge pickup with a stacked bucker but then found out that a little music store down the street had an original Morse model used. I think they're asking $850. I haven't seen or played it yet but they said it was definately someones "player" & was scratched up a bit. Is this a good price? What are your overall impressions of the old Morse guitar especially compaired to the feel of the AL? Thank for the help.
 
if it's balls u want...that bridge pickup is yer ticket !!!!!!!!!!!!
but 4 that price........make sure it's all original.........& that the neck is true.for that much money........make sure the frets are not due to be replaced. who cares about scratches ?????????????

Echoing what the other's said. The bridge pup will rock. With 4 pups and all the options you will have a lot of variety. I've read where Steve will set the heights of the pups at certain levels to allow them to alter the volume from lead to rhythm sounds by switching to another pup.

...yes I am missing my Morse that I sold in Dec....

How is it at getting Tele and Les Paul tone's? I'm contemplating getting one? Also, How is the neck pickup for clean jazzy tone's?
 
I went by & played it yesterday. It's on consignment at a local shop. I'm not sure of the year but it's an older one. Doesn't have the new heel. Also, it have nicks all over it & a huge chunk out of the back. The neck was a little tall for me but the fingerboard felt wonderfull. They're asking $895 for it & I told the owner it was way too much. I think it's going to ebay soon. Someone might get a good deal. I would like to play a newer/original Morse to compare. I know I like the Y2D but it seemed to be a different monster from the original Morse. My $.02

i don't know man . again..if it's all original....& if the frets are good...& the neck is true.......those 6 bolters can be VERY sweet & focused.
