Have tried making sense of the settings as given on the EB website but the simple soul I am dont understand the measurement values they specify soooooo can someone please advise in simple English the settings for relief, string and pickup height?

If all your strings buzz, and the buzz is most of the way up and down the neck, you'll need to tweak the truss rod. I had to do this to mine yesterday after replacing the strings.

The fingerboard needs lowering, and to do that, turn the little wheel anti-clockwise. The general advice is to turn it one full hole at a time (if that makes sense) - then leave it anywhere between 20-60 minutes to settle, then adjust again if needed - i.e. if it's still buzzy everywhere.

The other way of telling if the FB needs lowering (though I'm not 100% sure of the exact frets you use and I HAVE just jumped out of a plane so my head is a bit fuzzy ), is to press down at the 1st and 12th frets on the bass, and then check the gap between the strings and the FB. I think you also have to push down at the 7th fret too, and then check the gap at the 3rd fret. There should be 2 business card's worth of space there or so.

(I think that is right - not sure - a forum search should bring up the right answer).

If you've only got one or 2 strings buzzing, it's likely to be the saddles that need tweaking, but not too sure of the measurements for that.

End of the day, I think the settings are whatever works for you - some people prefer a really low action, and are happy to have a little fret buzz to accomodate that - otherwise play a little higher to eliminate the buzz. Thankfully, I don't think you can really hurt an EBMM bass... so just keep tweaking till you find what works for you. Truss rod wheel should sort most issues tho!
