ummm, ok I have enough money to atleast put a bongo on lay away at guitar center right now, doea anyone know exactly how this would work out? do they put it in a special room and is there a time frame I must pay for the of the bass buy? any help would be apriciated. thank you.
 
I don’t know what GC’s policy is, but I once played a grand opening of a Wal-Mart or a K-Mart I can’t remember which, (really… is one more embarrassing than the other?)

Anyway, they had an area in the back setup for us to dress and hang out, and I remember seeing a section with a chain link fence with shelves and a sign saying “Layaway”.

Why not ask Guitar Center? If it's on layaway, it will be tucked away so no one else will be able to mess with the "sold" gear.

There will be a set timeframe to pay off the instrument (could be 30 days, could be 180--depends, so ask Guitar Center).

There is also a high probability that you won't be able to get any refund if you can't get the bass before the time period is up, so you should probably ask Guitar Center.
 
Better still, why not direct your question (and your business) to one of the mom-and-pop EBMM dealers who frequent this forum? ;)
 
I don't know what GC's policy is either, but a couple of stores I use to go to, layaway stuff just had a sold sign put in it and was left on the floor. Unless you have found a Bongo that is "the one" I would just buy one when I had all the money.

It's like Dargin has these superpowers, and I'm not sure what they really are, but clearly they have something to do with zip codes.
 
He's got a map of the entire US in his head, divided into sectors based on postal codes, and little markers where MM dealers are! :eek: :p
 
Dargin has other powers, superpowers, he doesn't like to talk about and that have nothing to do with zip codes.

For instance, I have heard that he can see through typing paper, especially if the sun is behind it, and that he understands the language of ground squirrels.
