Hi guys. Ive got this older model SWR SM-900 That Im running on a SWR 412 cabinet. I really like the cabinet but I just cant get what I want out of the equalizer on the head. Im thinking about either trading for a GK 1001 RB or just selling it all together and getting something else. You guys think it would be close to an even swap for a used GK? It has to be something with that kind of power because my cab is 800W.

Thanks for the input

John

I have a video of me playing some slap stuff through my 1001 on YouTube.

[nomedia="http://youtube.com/watch?v=tM2wbF5wY4Q"]YouTube - Broadcast Yourself.[/nomedia]

That's with a Neo 2 12 and this recording takes out some of the bottom end of my sound.

It's a not warmed up pulled out of the butt thing I put together for Figgy. Hope it helps a little.

Nice slappage. Hehe you look and remind me so much of another bass player buddy of mine the resemblance is uncanny, even your interests are the same (marshall arts and whatnot). I wish I had a pic of him to show. He loves MM basses too!

I think SM500's and 1001RBII's are both going for about $500 on the used market so it should be a fair trade...........You will get ALOT more juice out of the 1001RBII if you don't mine giving up some of the features(tube pre,stereo,semi-parametricEQ)on the SM 500:) Great tone is very easy to find on the 1001RBII though so you should be fine.Good Job Stanky!

Hey John, I currently have 2 SWR Interstellar OD's and 2 SWR Power 750's but i used to have a GK1001 head and it sounded great. It had lots of tonal range and power. Definately can't go wrong with one of those for the money!

My band is in the process of learning "Little Miss Can't Be Wrong".

I guess I'll have to learn a little slap pop for that one.

Nice job Andrew.

Love me some Spin Doctors and thank you for the kind words. :D

Now off to practice with the wall o' GK.

I think I can feel the foundation shaking.
