Anyone in the Big Apple? Looks like I may have some spare time on a stop over at the beginning of April and either need advice or a drinking buddy.

Will be holed up in the Radisson Lexington from March 30th....:)

Rob,

What a shame! I'll be in NYC (for the first time ever) from March 27 until the 29th or 30th. Just missed!

Darn it....will just miss you. Am off on a little travel with the Distillers Council of the US (DISCUS) which is going to be pretty cool.
Through Kentucky and Tennessee, then to the opening of Washington's distillery in Mount Vernon and then breeze into New York and the WHisky Live show at Pier 66...

Its a hard life as an editor....:D

Rob,

That sounds like a miserable existence! ;)

I'm doing Chuck Ward 'trophy husband' duty.. my wife is a presenter at the National Association of School Psychologists annual convention. I have to find some things to do during the day while my wife attends the convention.

I'll be at the Hilton New York, 1335 Avenue of the Americas (6th Avenue). So if any NYC forumites know of something interesting nearby, let me know.

Finding something interesting to do in NYC is not difficult at all, it's the center of the universe as we know it. Plenty of museums, restaurants, tourist attractions, etc. You could visit the Statue of Liberty, or the Empire State Building, Museum of Natural History, Metropolitan Museum of Art, walk through Central Park and go to the zoo, Times Square, Chinatown, see a broadway show.

One musical thing that comes to mind happens every Monday night at the Irridium jazz club near Times Square. Les Paul, the 92 year old innovator who invented the solid body electric guitar, as well as multi-track recording, still plays 2 sets every Monday night. He ain't gonna be around much longer, so see the legend before it's too late.

You can even go up and jam if you want.

His bass player is HOT !! ...and she can play that thing well.

Go to the late show and you can hang out after and chat, get a pic, and have him sign something.

Rob, I can get into the city pretty quickly.
When you find out, let me know the definitive dates.

I don't know the hot spots anymore but I can
certainly drink . . and smoke ;)
