Even the best virus detecters can fail you.

My computer recently crashed. I had to reformat. I have files scattered between my main and slave drives. Don't know where I am at the moment.

I'm about to toss this darn thing out the freaking window ( the microsoft dang window ) :mad:

If one can love a computer, then I'm in luv with the Mac G5 I use at work. It has yet to crash, is super fast, it writes these forum notes for me (kiddin'), and it's impervious to 99% of the viruses out there. Have you seen the Mac Mini? Just amazing.

If you were to go with Apple computers (Disclaimer: I have a PowerBook G4 and iMac G5 and think they totally kick; can you say no need for virus/spyware scanning? I knew you could) I would wait until the Intel powered models come out in 2006. Developers who have used the Intel development machines say they stomp the bejeezus out of IBM/Motorola powered Macs.

Of course this doesn't help you today. One way you could go is get a refurbished or used Apple and unload that next year once the Intel models start arriving.
 
Back-up strategy...

Unfortunately, only the folks that have had a significant loss of data take the time to ensure future data is protected, myself included! :rolleyes:

Hope it's not too bad...
 
being a computer tech i have the luxury of many computers at my disposal. but for my personal home machines i use ghosting to image them in case of such catastrophies. more than likely it was spyware that killed yours . it has become so bad that it is more of a problem than "real" viruses.
