Well, well, well.

New cab in the house. Ordered through Atlanta Discount Music (Marshall was the most incredible salesman of all time). Picked it up today.

Initial thoughts: Holy Stars, this cab is killer. When I first played this cab, I was left shaking my head, and pretty much speechless. I could however mumble, WOW, repeatedly to the salesman and my girlfriend who joined me on my hunt for new gear.

This cab is super compact. Its 18 H x 22 3/4 W x 11 1/2 D. Weighs in at 55 pounds. That adds to the wow factor as this cab pushes out thick tone for days. The tweet is extremely smooth, and is the best Ive heard. I dont think Ive ever heard 10s do what this cab can do. Its amazingly musical with freakin crazy definition on the low B of my StingRay 5. Kinda looks funny with the SVT Classic sitting on it, since the SVT is wider and deeper than the Berg.

My drummer, and best friend went to pick it up with me. Im not kidding, he too was speechless when we got home and hooked up the cab to the SVT. Once he could speak, he said "Man, this may not make sense, but that sounds like a good CD bass tone, or like you hope your bass sounds through a good PA. Thats seriously the best sounding bass cabinet Ive ever heard". You know its good if a drummer is impressed.:D

So, in closing, my dirty, beat up, and abused UGA hat goes off to Jim Bergantino for his AMAZING cabs that are IMO a work of art.

And finally pics:

Very sweet Ben. I liked the HT322 very much. It was a little out of my budget, and the size of the HT210S sealed the deal for me. Im done hauling around a big stack.

Hearing Ben's rig at Jack's house is what first got me thinking about going Bergie. I too concur with Travis about the ability to handle the low B being amazing. I also tried out the HT112 among many others, and was amazed that the 210 handled the lows nicer than the 112. Its hard to go wrong with any of Jim's stuff frankly. I'm really just a sucker for the green script logo though...

Of course I also have a red Bongo sitting at my parents house that came in today while I was in Austin for business. The other amazing thing is that the new pickguard I ordered happen to arrive today as well. The odds of them both arriving on the same day are really astounding, espescially considering when I ordered the pg, I didn't know if the Bongo was ready yet.

Anyway, as long as we are sharing Bergie pics...Here is mine:

Those are some cute little 2-10 cabinets.

What do they go for?

Not that I have GAS or anything.

I'm just ASKING.

Jacko,

I bleeb the Bergs are on fixed pricing. You can 'spect to find them selling for $749. That price was MUCH harder to swallow before I heard the Bergs. Jack, I really think these cabs would KILL with a Bongo.:D

I am actually very excited about the idea of only having to lug one cab to gigs and sessions. In fact, the road case that my GK Neo115 was in looks like itll hold the Berg 2x10 AND the SVT Classic. I will be so stoked if I can roll out with one road case and a bass case.

$750 Jack, pricey, but quite worth it. If you are interested, the last time I was in the GC on 635 they had a used HT210(the old style) marked at 699, which might be gotten for 500 or more. It might be worth checking into.

If you ever get interested, I can always bring mine over sometime.

Ill tell ya, I went to 5 music stores in Atlanta and tried about every brand of bass cab made, and the Bergs really stood out, in a big way.

Just really really great stuff.

I saw that one, too, Tom. Too bad it's in Seattle. Bit of a drive from the Lone Star State.
