Hi,

I purchased a MarkBass F1 head today, but I need to mount it in my rack to be able to use it.
The problem is that there are no rack mount kits for the F1 available in Switzerland, and I've already waited since end of December for them. Today I was informed that there will not be any before end of April. That's a mighty long time to not be able to use a fine amp...

So my last hope is that some kind sould here can probably get me an original MarkBass rack mount kit for the F1 head, and mail it to me. Maybe Peter Murray could be of assistance to track a kit down for me.

Thanks!

saxnbass hooked me up with my set of rack ears for my LM2

Thanks for the tip! Hope he checks in sometime, though if he currently resides in the UK... :(

I dug around on the web and it seems as if those rack ears are rare as hen's teeth!!!

Of course there is always the Do-It-Yourself approach.

Rack ears are just "L" shaped hunks of metal. I have seen a few postings (TalkBass?) of people making rack ears for their LMII. All the supplies can be bought at the local Home Depot. A drill, some nuts and bolts, and some bent metal and you will be good to go.

It might not be pretty, but at least it will be rackmounted long before you get the ears from MarkBass.

BTW, my SA450 came with the ears as standard. Odd they don't do that for all the amps.

Just wanted thank again Hutton for the hint!

The rack ears arrived today, and the F1 is already mounted in a SKB case. Those MarkBass rack ears are very good quality and fit perfectly.

Now, I just miss a MarkBass cabinet! But Saturday will come, sooner or later... :D

You're welcome oli. Glad to be of assistance. As you can see I use an MB rig. The cabs are a great match to the heads and will bring a huge smile to your face when you let that F1 loose on them.
