Put in 13 hours today at work. I get home, A/C busted. Hit a high around 106 today. Currently reads 86 in the apartment. Gonna be a crappy night of sleep. Maybe I should get a hotel room.

:(

but the truck is paid off.

i went to college at uc davis up near sacramento and it hit 110ish there a lot in teh summers. we were too broke to use AC so wed go hang out at the grocery store for a while.

i feel your pain

does the ruck have AC? maybe you can hang out in there

so long as I don't have to do anything or wear much I love the heat.... the instant I have to suit up.. bah.... but Nothing beats lazing around the house during extreme heat in nothing but your undies watching 5 days of test match cricket.

Speaking of Wal Mart...
You could probably find a small window-type A/C for like $ 79.99
Works fine for a bedroom, close the doors and chill out! ;)

+1 Best $80 you could spend.

I had to do that recently...until I came up w/$5k to replace the whole system...no new gear for me for awhile!

Get call from maintenance guy: "We subcontract out. The subcontractor will be calling you."

Subcontractor: "I need to set up a time to come out to fix your a/c."

Me: "I can't make it. Please contact maintenance to be let in."

Subcontractor: "No problem."

Come home to 90 degree apartment again. I called the emergency maintenance number and I'm told: "I'll see what I can do in the morning."

And I'm supposed to sign a new lease before the end of the month. Looks like I'll be lookin' elsewhere.

Man, the real heat hasn't even hit us yet ya wimp...only hit 110 today...quityerbitchin and go crash on NorM's couch.

Talked to the property manager. She was shocked. I was told that it would be worked on today. If I don't have working a/c when I get home tonight I'm exercising some ARS's. Arizona has a nice Renter's Bill of Rights.
