Paint Colors

I'm wondering if automotive paints can be modified to be used on guitars. Wouldn't the DuPont(tm) 2001 ChromaLusion(R) be interesting? It was used on the 200th anniversary #24 Monte Carlo for Jeff Gordon. You may have gotten a rare glimpse of it on a car or truck going down the road--I've seen one of each and they both looked hot.

Somebody else would have to confirm this, but I was under the impression that the paints were similar.
Mystic Dream being a strong example!

A couple of guys I know have actually been using that stuff, the DuPont Chormalusion, for things. One of them being a guitar. It works just fine.

I saw a Grand Prix or two in a Mystic Dream-like color. It's got the green and blue thing. Not much of the purple, though.

I can concur. Most poly guitar paint jobs are done using the same paint used on cars. The only diffence is how you prep either one prior to painting it. That's why companies like Meguiar's offer Final Inspection spray for detailing cars, but re-label it and call it guitar polish.
