Petrucci guitar question

I went to try out a used petrucci today and on ernie balls site it says 1 11/16" nut width. But the guitar I was using seems to feel like a 1 5/8". Was there different nut widths threw out the years the petrucci signature was made?

Strange for some reason it feels smaller down near the nut?

When did they start using an emblem in the first fret?

The "JP" shield inlays are optional on the JP model guitar. You have the choice of dots or the "JP inlays" for an addtional $190.

The nut width is the same 1 11/16 that it's always been.

After the first fret, those shields look like bullets to me. The JP is faster than a speeding bullet.

I was jumping between my wayne and the JP when trying it out and the nut width felt smaller on the JP to me. As I played the JP more it started to feel more comfortable but I am still not sure if I like the way it feels down there near the nut but I will go back a few times to try it again before buying. But it sure does sound like a JP I love the tone from it.
