Petrucci w/Quilt Top

Probably took the hardware and electronics off an MM axe and transplanted them to that body. I don't know if anyone noticed, but theres a strat jack cup on there, that's not true to form. This is probably one of the worst copies, if not THE worst I've seen him perpetrate. That neck joint sucks too.

Surprisingly, the Rebel actually works pretty well. But I get your point, my opinion of ol' redbeard is that he's always been a Xerox machine for guitars. Nothing original, just facsimiles really.

After looking at those abortions, I'm glad I have my own "custom" Petrucci from EB.

Where's the pot adjustments for the piezo pickups?

I can't believe what he did to those Axi. Shame.

Ed just cracks me up.

I agree with Fsmith. This JP is probably one of the most reactive instruments I've ever owned. It's loud as f@#$%! unplugged, and to me that's extremely important.

Isn't the Rebel based on Reb Beachs old Ibanez signature? I'm pretty sure it was that shape, but with a headstock....

Ed Roman. Its a messed up world....

I'd rather get a grizzly bear off with a hand full of fish hooks than buy a Dred Roman guitar. Gosh, what a tragedy. To ruin designs other people put hard work and time into is such a waste. I'm sure Ed would tell JP that his design of the Petrucci guitar plays better. JP would then have to pull off a great run, take ed's crap guitar, and beat him with it. :D
Anywho, my custom petrucci's made by Ernie Ball is great and needs no adjustments! Keep up the AWESOME work fellas and ladies!

Apparently some clown from thePetrucci board ordered that. And it took over a year for The Munchkin to Xerox incorrectly. It is a Musicman trem from another Petrucci, pups are different tho' and it has a different preamp in it apparently. Seems like if Ed could do a laminate on his own poo he'd be apt to sell it as the most toneful ever. I dunno just my observation.

Yeah OC, I have agree with you on that. I think Ed is good at selling his "wares" of equipment to people who are unaware of other options. You can be the biggest store on the planet selling crap, the bottom line is, it is still crap. I feel bad for people who get sucked into Ed's vision. But again, this is the information age and they can only blame themselves for not doing their homework. I got close to buying a blue dawn petrucci and then things got weird (see my somethings fishy post), and bailed out with my money still in my control. :D Plus, there is nothing wrong with the JP's as they stand. Why top it and spend all that money when you can get a new axe for the same price if not less?

I would love to see a Ernie Ball built quilt top Petrucci though. I would buy one in sec.......hint hint hint ;) Any chance of making that a future possiblity fellas?

He has appeared on other forums I have read before under a different name of course...lol.

He just made it seem like he was such a stand up guy that his cover was blown in a heartbeat :D

I actually love the idea of a Petrucci with a quilt top. Having Ernie's boys build it that way would be the only way to go though. I mean Roman is what he is, I ain't gonna judge him (cuz everyone else has enough ahead of me), but if you're gonna pay God only knows how much for a Petrucci, why not get the real deal. For me, I'll just sit around and wait and pray that MM decides to open a custom shop.

I said it before and I will say it again...I would be the first to line up for a Pet with some quilt. Come EB.....I'm really really really really really begging you for one......any possibilities of this happening?

Nope.

John had a maple top on the 90th Ibanez JPM and he didn't like much what it did to the sound of the guitar. You'd have to be an endorsee to get such a feature since John will not ever even come close to requesting a maple top JPM be marketed.
