Pick Guard Color?

Can someone positively I.D. the pick guard color of the black Bongo HS reviewed
in the March 2004 issue of BP?

I'm gonna go with Abalone. Kinda of a hard angle to that pic to tell.

Yeah, impossible to tell from that angle.

I would probably say it could be black pearloid, abalone or moonstone.

I dug out the issue and can see it a bit better in the mag than online and I'm sticking with Abalone.

Steve you're right, that angle makes it hard to tell for sure. But I'm with Tiffles, I've got both here and the lighter part looks white on my monitor and I see no other colors like on the abalone... but what do I know, all mine are leftys.

I don't think it's black pearl since it looks quite dark.

My guess would be Moostone!
(or possibly Python)

Looks like Saphire Black and Moonstone to me. Could be python or black pearl though too.

I ruled out the black pearl because of the swirl pattern. To me, it looks like black and white swirls. I don't see any blues and therefore ruled out abalone. I've never seen a clear close up of the moonstone or python. Any pics would be appreciated.

After further review and scanning I'm going to go with Moonstone because it almost looks like a bit of pink in front of the bridge pickup.

That Looks Like Moonstone In That Close Up. The Pearl Is Much Smaller And Tighter....

Graphite Pearl and Moonstone kills. In fact there shouldn't even be any other option when one orders one in that color imho.
