I snuck to the local GC this afternoon on my way home from a gig. Lo and behold, a 4-string Bongo HH that wasn't there a few days ago was hanging on the wall. I got my paws on it, plugged it into a GK, and plunked on it for a few minutes. Niiice! It was a pleasure to play. The action was really good, the bass was pretty lightweight, and it had tone for days. Talk about some PUNCH!! This was my first time playing a Bongo, and I enjoyed it a lot. Now I see what all the fuss is about.

I think my wife might notice if I snuck one of them into the house, though... :(

I'll consider myself lucky (again)...my wife is fronting me the money to make my Bongo purchase a few weeks before we get our bonus checks!

I tried to sneak a guitar by her last year, but then I caved in & confessed. I thought about the "easier to get forgiveness than permission" thing......BIG mistake!!

Hey, you're the MAN of the house, buy that Bongo!!! And if she don't like it... Give her the best damn listening to she ever had!

(My wife has me well trained, whenever company comes over the first thing I do is sniff their asses, then go hide under the bed... But I've got a Bongo coming!)

Just when I think my Bongo lust has abated somewhat, I get to play a bunch of different ones and remember what it was like the first time.

Bill, as Dargin might say, PUT SOME TROUSERS ON and get yourself a Bongo, man!

Hehe.....one of these days! I'd also like the SR5 that was hanging next to the Bongo. Talk about double trouble!
