I haven't tried a Silo, but I will concur that the JP neck is absolutely nothing like the Luke neck.

I may be wrong but I don't think that has anything to do with it. The tension is different between a 22 fret and 24 fret neck. That's why I have always played 24 fret necks the strings feel alot tighter in my opinion.Ali said:Ask yourself this...how many times do you ever use the last two frets, and can you work round it?

Brett, if the scale length is the same, the string tension is the same. You may be noticing the heel is in a different place which might give the impression that the tension is different while you play in different positions. I know that's a big thing for me, and I love 24 fret necks. I've grown to love the y2d, and I love the profile on the LUKE, but the 24 frets of the JP is the most comfortable for me. I'll be getting a LUKE anyways, love that frikkin neck profile

Tension difference results from a different scale length. All EBMM guitars have the same scale length, except perhaps the Silhouette Bass, which may or may not be a guitar anyway.

It all comes down to the individual I suppose. The Luke is the only neck that simply melts into my hands. I don't have long enough fingers to find the Ibanez/JP6 necks comfortable and the Axis, for all its wonderousness, is just a tad chunky for me (I'll put up with it I suppose
). I have relatively short fingers but a long span, so the Luke suits me perfectly

Well I JUST got my CBP LUKE couple hours ago. It is a beautifully fantastic guitar, and the neck RULES. I have long fingers and the neck feels REALLY good in my hands none the less. Also, the tension of the strings also depends on what GAUGE you use . I use 10s on my Silo, and when I picked up the LUKE when i came w/ 9s I could bend the high E all the way up to the low E!
