This could be the best sounding bass tonally I have ever played.

If I didn't buy a SR4 LE and a Sterling AND a Sad****y in the last week or two, it would be mine. My wife just walked out of the store when I started playing it!

SOMEBODY PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD go to Cosmo Music in Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada and buy this damn thing before I do. It has been on the wall and on sale for months! MAYBE $200 more than a regular SR. Can't post pricing, but it is well under $2k Canadian.

P.S. They also have one of those $28,000 EVH franken-replicas in a case on the wall which is worth going there just to see. Very cool.

Hmm maybe sell the LE and get the 30th? The LE is quite desirable aestethically but for me tone always comes first. That's what I'd do, if I had the bass and the money to pay the difference.

Yeah, the 30th is a tone monster. While the LE is a beautiful bass, tone wise it still a standard Stingray.

This is what caused my downfall into buying a 30th. The salesman said, " you know we have a 30th on clearance. " A little over a month later it was mine. :D

You have a long road ahead of you with the wife. Good luck.

I absolutely agree.

But after listening to some recordings my band made recently with my 2007 SR LE, this bass nails the tone I have been looking perfectly.

The Sterling might get sacrificed, BUT I HAVE ONLY HAD IT FOR 2 DAYS!! Not even enough time to get sick of it yet.:p If the 30th is still there in a few weeks once I get some eBay cash for selling a few Fenders, it may be meant to be.

From the mouth of one who should know.

Once I played the 30th Anniversay, there was no option but get it. It is by far the best Stingray I have ever played or heard. It is one of those instruments that will be a keeper after all the others are sold or traded. :D

You guys are killling me. I should have just stayed on Talkbass. Why did I come back here?;):D It is expensive hanging out on the EBMM Forum.

I am thinking that a couple more Fenders might be sacrificed. I have 2 MIA Jazz V's that are collecting dust. We shall see.

P.S. I just hope to God that the 2008 LE and BFR basses are ugly as hell and I remain GAS free for the forseeable future.:D

From what I've seen of the 08 LEs, you're screwed! ;)

I have to echo danomar's sentiments posted above; my 30th is a keeper until my dying day. My SR4 didn't displace my trusty P/J as my #1, but I think my 30th has. I went to put a new set of strings on the P/J the other day, but then I thought, "why bother?", and played my 30th instead.

If you can swing it, get the 30th. You definitely will be glad you did.

A big +1. I have two basses that are never going anywhere while I have the strength to pick them up, and the 30th is one of them. It sounds huge, looks stunning and plays great. Plus, there aren't that many of them around, and when they're gone, they're gone. I can't figure out why some of these have been languishing on GC walls for this long, but get one while you still can.

30th SR4

I was going to add my thoughts about the 30th and as I was assembling adjectives in my head I got distracted and pulled it out of its case and that was three hours ago. Did you buy it yet?

Anytime I need to get something done, I make sure my 30th is put away. The temptation would be too great. :D

Good luck on "lets make a deal" .
