Hello everyone! I've got a jpm that plays great but something is still missing as far as tone. I play through a Mesa dual rectifier so I know it is not my amp. Any way, I have a Dimarzio tone zone and a air norton lying around and I thought that I might do a pickup change in my jpm. Anyone out there who has a jpm swapped out pickups? Any suggestions? Thanks!

Have you tried adjusting the height of you p/us for a better signal? I know a guy who swapped p/us 3 times on the new JPM, then went back to the original configuration and found adjusting the p/u height was the culprit all along.

Hello Miracle,

I have raised the pickups with foam pieces but still not there yet. Don't get me wrong, it has got great tone, but it needs that extra bit of drive so I did put the Tone Zone in the bridge and it does the job nicely. It has the "Images and Words" tone for days now! I read on the DiMarzio site that JP did use the TZ for a while back in the day. Thanks for the reply! Do you own a JPM?:D Kick Ass Guitar!!!

Well, thats cool. whatever makes you happy. I'm looking for more of the Six Degrees Tone though.

No, I don't own one yet. I'm dying for one though. Just a little out of my price range right now. If things go the way I want, I'll have 2 of em at least ordered next week. Whoo hoo. I'm using an Ibanezjem7dbk right now. I've added an internal Roland Synth P/U, and i'm sending the neck on friday to LGM-Guitars. Lgm Guitars I'm having a chrome vine installed.
