Well I was afraid this would happen, after such a dreamlike experience in SLO reality has set in. I have to work my ass of today preparing for thirty people coming over to my house tomorrow. It’s one of those tricks my wife pulls on me to clean the house up to her level of satisfaction. The place gets a little to messy, bring financial controllers to the house… bunch of wet hens!

Then instead of hanging out with the coolest CEO in the world, this weekend I HAVE to hang out with about fifteen regular CEO’s, the expensive suited, trophy wife collecting, anal types. Here’s where the board retreat is this year.

Sure it’s a nice place and all, but I hate the place! I’ve played there since the seventies in various orchestras, but only got to go thru the front door a few years a go after my wife became a CFO. (When a musician dies and goes to heaven, no pearly gates for us, we’ll have to go in thru the kitchen.) Then on top of that, my KIDS are going, no more laying around the room practicing bass and ordering room service, the place has a friggin “rock wall”.

They organize “spouse” functions and of course I’m the only guy. Some of you guys met me; can you imagine me on a little tour bus with a group of snooty, overly decorated trophy wives going on the antique tour?

God I miss BP and you guys…

Back to the real world brother.

I would say I feel sorry for ya, but at least you got to go to OH.

Now get over it!

:D

Reality is a b*tch. I'm depressed because I couldn't go to the Open House and I STILL had to go to work this week.

Dreaming of that buttercream Bongo with rosewood neck.... :)

How to ease the pain..

Chuck,

Here's what I'm doing to 'decrescendo' from the Open House...

I've been buying CD's and other merchandise from the various artists who took time out to hang with us this weekend. Just a miniscule way of saying thanks to those guys for squandering some of their precious free time with knuckleheads.

Yeah my CD shopping list is ready as well and I'm going to order one of those Bass Trainers. That stuff Dave LaRue played on the first song at the concert blew my mind! To be such a monster player and also be such a nice guy at the same time earned huge respect from me.

WHAT A WEEKEND!!! :D :D :D

I took this week off from the pharmacy so I could cope with the aftermath from the Open House, and put in some extra time at the music store.

I went to 3 stores yesterday looking for anything by Morse, Moore, and Lukather... came up with zip.

Round 2 of shopping begins today.

Oh yeah, did I mention that I took this week off from the pharmacy so I could cope with the aftermath from the Open House, and put in some extra time at the music store? :D

I hear ya, bro. Today I've just been buying their stuff online, as I know there's about 0 percent chance of finding something on the shelf...

If you don't have any Vinnie Moore discs, I have to tell you that "Mind's Eye" remains one of my favorites, and I bought it back in the late 80's when it first came out. (In the days before CDs! I have it on vinyl, and I got VinMan to autograph the album cover at a music store clinic circa 1988!)

Of course, I eventually bought "Mind's Eye" on CD, too!

I'm trying to find a place to buy Steve Morse Band "Southern Steel" right now... I have many Morse discs, but not that one!

That's the depression I'm dealing with; that BC HH RW B not being available on the market.:(

Nice avatar. :D I copied that pic to my work computer yesterday, and I've probably opened it 10 times since then. I can wait for that bass as long as necessary -- I've got my stealth Bongo to keep me busy.

Must be talking about the double tapping stuff?
That'd be VISTA GRANDE on Steve Morse Band's SOUTHERN STEEL (1991 I bleeb)

Try getting a copy of Steve's DVD SECTS, DREGS and ROCK and ROLL. There's a section on it where steve and Dave do about 12 duets and dave's playing is stunning!

Not so sure it's gonna be a wait, as much as a pipe dream.

Hence, the depression.

I, too, have that avatar saved on my desktop background...awesome bass!
