Hi everyone,
Yvon from montreal, english is my second language, so sorry about all the mistake.

Never owned a MM before, but when I first tried the classic about 4 years I loved it. I had just bought a house and couldn't really afford it.
Came back to the same store, it was still there 4 years and a half later.
Made them a low ball offer and they accepted it!

So here it is, my first music man ever, my first 4 string in 20 years and my first active bass in about 20 years also!

Hey Yvon, great score!! I can't believe that the bass sat in some store for four and a half years... it's a colour called "classic white", which was discontinued a couple of years back—so it's already somewhat collectible.

I have the same bass, but with a maple fingerboard—and it's been my number one ever since I got it. I'm sure you're going to love it!!

Your first 4 string in 20 years!!! Wow. You are not so fast to change are you. I can't think of a better bass to start with as an active that a Ray! Those are the essencials! Nice score and very classic designed bass.

You'll get another 20 years from this one!

The Idea was to put flat wound on the bass, anyone with some experience with flatwound on a classic?
I will probably put some d'addario chrome on it, they are available locally.
What else should I consider?

I have Thomastik Flatwounds on my Classic. It sounds great and you can still get a nice slap and pop sound if you turn up the treble. You can get a nice thumpy sound from the bass and the overall tone is really nice. Great for blues and Motown and that Bernard Edwards sound.

Hello Yvonne. Congrats on a beautiful bass. I purchased my Stingray Classic about 6 months ago and love it.. I put a set of Chromes on mine. It's fantastic and now has become my go to bass.
