Problems adjusting Floyd Rose setting on EB/MM EVH

Hi guys,

I'm having a bit tof trouble setting the right tension and hight on my EB/MM EVH.

Also the tremelo arm is bit loose. Don't know how to fasten it. It can move inside the tremelo holder if you know what I mean. The pictures shows some sort of screw insert, but....well I don't know....?

Second: should the 'baseplate' (where the music man logo is) rest on the guitar? Or at least lined up in exact same line as the body? It's a little off set right now, but that way I was at least able to set the tremelo the way it should work.

Will I lose sustain now that it's of the body?

I'm new to this system, so looking for ways to make it work

The evh floyd should be resting on the body,its a dive bomb only trem. It was done this way because it ADDS sustain...

What about the tremelo arm. Should there be a screw
or bus holding it in it's place? If so, I have to get me one or the other

If i got you right, all you have to do is to remove backplate and tighten the screw using the allen wrench.
You`ll find the screw on the trem block. That will stop your trem arm from swingin` freely.

Thanks, I know about that, but the trem itself has some space to move in it's socket. Like if it doesn't fiit 100%.
Maybe it's just cause of wear thru the years?

Well,you have to remove the floyd and tighten the washer underneath the plate-should help ( worked on my 08 axis bridge,dunno if your axe sports the same system...). Good luck.

I don't like trems that rest on the body, I'll take the slight loss in sustain. I think yours is set up perfectly. I set mine up that way, and actualy it was harder to do since when it's not resting on the guitar the action is higher and then for higher action you have to lower the bridge which makes the leading edge of the bridge sit on top of the guitar. A vicious catch 22. I can't stand a tremelo that doesn't float.
